When I stumbled across these simple yet stimulating gifs on tumblr, I had to look up the creator. My main focus of photography for this project lies in portraiture. Even though I'm not making the focus lie on the face, the image still has that portrait-like quality to it.
In these gifs, Laurent creates such mesmerising gifs, that loop endlessly. Even though I won't be attempting to use the same methods in my work, I want to be able to create images and publications that have a similar effect of my audience. By isolating certain moving parts of an image, it gives a subtle hint into the subject's being, yet not giving too much away.
I'm also intrigued by the use of technical skills in making these gifs. I'd like to explore into how to make a custom gif, and perhaps utilise this skill in the future.
