Scott Schuman, a.k.a The Sartorialist, is a contemporary photography who captures street style in New York. His eye for recognising stylish, interesting people is something I'd like to tap into for my project. Also, his simple use of frame and natural colour in his photography is very effective, and always draws your attention to what should be focused on i.e. the fashion. This simple yet effective use of photography is definitely how I'd like to approach my project.
The fun and care-free attitude Cunningham has to his work is so inspiring. He currently photographs trends for the New York Times, using his keen eye to identify the style on the streets of New York. To me, it truly seems as if he's doing what he loves, and always seems to have a smile on his face. After watching his documentary, Bill Cunningham: New York, I really saw the passion Bill has for his work, yet he never forgets the fact that it in the end it makes him happy, it's fun, and that's all that matters. Cunningham's take on work and life is something I shall remember throughout my studies, always making me remember that I should always do what I love.
